COLLEGE PROFILE :

Sri Kottureshwara Vidya Vardhaka Sangha registered under the Mysore Societies Act 1960 was founded by H.H.Shri Channabasava Mahaswami of Kalmath in the year 1965 with a vision to spread education and develop this economically, educationally backward area. Presently it is running a number of educational institutions in Gangavathi town.

Present swamiji His Holiness Dr. Kotturu Mahaswami of Kalmath is the president of Shri Kottureshwara Vidya Vardhaka Sangha. He is guiding us in development of our college.

Our college started in the year 1974 with the munuficient donation of Gunjahalli Family in memory of Late Shri Gunjahalli Hire Nagappa a philonthrophist of Gangavathi town.

Sri Gunjahalli Basanna, donor of the college who is instrumental in starting the college played an important and significant role in the development of the college.

Sri. Agadi Sanganna, stalwart, Ex M.P(1957 and 1967) of Koppal played a key and significant role in sanctioning of affilication to our collge by the Karnataka University, Dharwad. His role is inclusion of our college in Grant-in-Aid code of Government of Karnataka is commendable in the history of the college.

Shri. Gunjahalli Nagappa has served as founder chairman of the college. He is encouraging us in all the developmental activities of the college. Shri. H. Prabhakar, Advocate is the Secretary of our S.K.V.V Sangha.

The Executive Committee of Sangha, Governing Council of the College and Members of the Sangha are guiding us in all the developments of the college.

At the beginning college was affiliated to Karnataka University, Dharwad and then Gulbarga University, Gulbarga. Presently our college is affiliated to Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya Universtiy, Bellary and Government of Karnataka. College is included in 2(f) and 12(b) of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Our college is the first institution of this area to provide exclusive commerce education. It is meeting the needs of business organizations, firms and financial institutions in the development of this area.

The college is 45 years old and thousands of students have passed out with great laurels from the portals of this college.
